| 2016 Thomson Reuters Lipper Fund Award |
The annual "Oscars" award ceremony for the Unit Trust industry just ended today! Held at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur today morning, the 2016 series awarded a total of 4 Group Awards and 37 Individual Fund Awards.
This year's Lipper Award saw the number of awards for individual fund reduced to 37 awards as compared to last year's 51. The big reduction in the number of awards is due to merging of both Conventional and Islamic funds of the same class into single common class/category.

Once again RHB Asset Management emerged clear winners for 2016 with 12 Individual awards. Eastspring is second with 6 Awards and the country's biggest fund house, Public Mutual managed to grab 5 Awards to round up the top 3.
Surprisingly major competitors from last year such as Pheim, Manulife and Pacific Mutual ended without any award for 2016. That goes to show the level of competitiveness among the fund houses in vying for the Lipper awards.
